Hamilton, Bermuda

We arrived on a lovely, sunny day.  The cruise into the anchorage was really spectacular.  The harbor is enclosed within a coral reef, and there are hundreds of small-to-medium sized islands also within the reef.  The islands ranged in size from a tennis court to very large indeed.  Any island larger than a football field had at least one (very luxurious) house and a dock on it.  I guess if you’re a wealthy Bermudian, you buy your own island.
We tendered in to the town of Hamilton.  There was one cruise ship (MS Veendam) already in the town and two other larger ones docked at the main cruise ship port on the other side of the harbor.
As usual, we opted to just walk around town.  The place was immaculate and very pricey.  Luncheon entrees at most restaurants were around $35 (USD).  It certainly killed our appetites!  The good news was that there were lots of grocery stores, toy stores, and suchlike for Mrs. Brown to browse.
We had a good time strolling, but two hours was enough, so we hopped on the tender (actually the Bermudian a 700-passenger ferry) for the 30-minute ride back to the Prinsendam.  The ferry ride was one of the best parts of the day.  We got very close to some of those small, luxury islands and I got some great pictures of the way I would really like to live.
